Our initial meeting can help us get to know each other a little and you can decide whether you feel comfortable working with me. During that first session we can discuss anything you feel is important to share and may include:
Your expectations of me and counselling
Goals or outcomes you’d like to work towards
Background of past or present relationships
Events that you feel have influenced you
However, nothing is off limits so I will be guided by you.
We can decide whether you'd prefer face to face, Skype or Telephone sessions. It may be we could use all three.
Usually we would meet weekly, at the same time and day, with the exception of holidays and unexpected events; therefore it is important to think about whether this can be accommodated.
We can work on a short or a long term basis; we can chat about this to see where we are.
Your autonomy is so important, therefore I won’t tell you what to do or give advice; people often ask me this and seem disappointed when I say no. I want you to be the master of your universe. If I tell you what to do, how will you learn to trust yourself and if you don't like what I suggest, how will you be able to trust me?
When we approach the end of our work, we will plan how long we take to do this, reflecting on our beginning, the goals that were set and where we are now. It is important that this doesn’t happen abruptly so that when we say goodbye it feels like the right time.
Fees and Payment
Counselling is the best investment you'll ever make.
I am a registered AXA PPP Healthcare Professional, therefore you may be able to arrange counselling with me via your AXA PPP health insurance policy.
Alternatively, please contact me to discuss fees in more detail as I take in to account your personal circumstances to ensure affordability across the board. Therefore, I offer a scale of between 45 and 75 and ask you to choose where you feel comfortable within that bracket, to ensure you have autonomy over what you pay, that you pay what you feel counselling is worth to you and so you feel you are paying a fair price.
For a last minute cancellation (on the same day of the appointment) and for non-attendance there is a charge for the full cost of the session.
Payment is made in advance in order to confirm your next appointment, with the exception of the initial assessment, which is paid when we meet.
Payment can be made in cash, by PayPal or bank transfer.
